Gov Dauda Lawan Expresses Sympathy Over Journalists’ Accident

The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Malam Dauda Lawan Dare, has expressed deep sympathy following a car accident involving members of the Zamfara State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).  

The unfortunate incident occurred as the journalists were returning to Zamfara State after participating in the union's eighth triennial delegates' conference, which took place in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State.  

In a statement issued on behalf of the state government, Governor Lawan Dare conveyed his heartfelt concern for the victims and assured them of his support. He said, "I received the unfortunate news about a car accident involving members of the Zamfara State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). My thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time."  

The Governor also prayed for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries in the accident. “I pray that Almighty Allah grants a swift recovery to all those who were injured,” he added.  

Governor Lawan Dare further called on road users to prioritize safety while traveling, especially during long journeys, to prevent such tragic incidents in the future. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting journalists and ensuring their welfare in the state.
